Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 19, 2026

Floofroof (“Floofroof,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an online platform for booking and managing pet care services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store and secure it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It also describes, in detail, how we handle data accessed through the YNAB API when you choose to connect your YNAB account.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the service:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
  • Customer and pet details — contact information and the pet profile information you provide to arrange care (such as pet names, breeds, and care notes).
  • Booking and service information — the services you book, schedules, and related records.
  • Payment information — payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; card data is handled directly by Stripe under their security standards.
  • YNAB data — described in the dedicated section below, only if you connect a YNAB account.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and operate the service: to manage accounts, schedule and fulfill bookings, process payments, communicate with you about your bookings, and, where you have connected it, synchronize payment records to your YNAB budget. We do not sell your personal information.

YNAB Integration

Floofroof offers an optional integration with YNAB (You Need A Budget) so that business owners can automatically reflect payments in their own YNAB budget. This integration is entirely opt-in: it only operates after you explicitly connect your YNAB account through YNAB’s official OAuth authorization screen, and only the account holder who connects it is affected.

What data we access and why

We are honest and transparent about our purpose: we access your YNAB data solely to synchronize Floofroof payment records into the budget categories you choose, and for no other purpose. Through the YNAB API we may read your YNAB user identifier, your budgets, accounts, and categories, and existing transactions, and we may create transactions and update category amounts in the budget you select. We request only the access necessary to provide this feature.

How YNAB data is handled, stored, and secured

When you connect YNAB, we receive OAuth access and refresh tokens. These tokens are encrypted at rest in our database and are used only to make requests on your behalf to the YNAB API over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We do not ask for or store your YNAB username or password — the OAuth flow means your credentials are entered only on YNAB’s own site. We do not log token values or sensitive financial data.

How long YNAB data is kept

We retain your YNAB tokens and the configuration needed to run the integration only while the integration remains connected. When you disconnect YNAB in Floofroof, we delete the stored access and refresh tokens and deactivate the integration. You can additionally remove Floofroof’s authorization at any time from within your YNAB account settings, which revokes our access upstream at YNAB.

No sharing of YNAB data with third parties

Data obtained through the YNAB API will not knowingly be passed to any third party. We use it only to provide the synchronization feature described above.

How We Store and Secure Your Data

Your data is stored on secured servers and transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Sensitive credentials such as passwords and third-party access tokens are hashed or encrypted at rest, access is restricted, and we take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You may request deletion of your data as described below.

Your Choices and Data Deletion

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, including any data we obtained through the YNAB API. To make a request, email us at support@floofroof.com and we will respond and process your request. You may also disconnect the YNAB integration at any time from your Floofroof settings, and remove Floofroof’s authorization from your YNAB account settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we begin accessing new types of data or materially change how we use it, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain your consent before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
